Introducción: Las quemaduras son lesiones cutáneas ocasionadas por agentes térmicos, químicos, eléctricos o radiantes, con una incidencia hasta siete veces superior en países de ingresos bajos y medios. Objetivo: Describir los resultados del uso de un apósito de nanocelulosa en pacientes adultos quemados atendidos en Hospital General Provincial Camilo Cienfuegos de Sancti Spíritus, Cuba entre enero de 2022 y enero de 2025. Método: Estudio observacional, descriptivo, longitudinal y prospectivo con un enfoque cuantitativo. Resultados: El tiempo de cicatrización fue oportuno, donde el 70 % de los casos logró cierre entre 8 y 14 días, sin registros más allá de 21 días, y solo un paciente presentó infección local. Además, el manejo del dolor fue adecuado, y la calidad estética de la cicatriz mejoró entre los días 30 y 90. Conclusiones: El apósito de nanocelulosa evidenció eficacia y seguridad como opción terapéutica local.

Introduction: Burns are skin injuries caused by thermal, chemical, electrical, or radiant agents, with an incidence up to seven times higher in low- and middle-income countries. Objective: To describe the results of using a nanocellulose dressing in adult burn patients treated at the Camilo Cienfuegos Provincial General Hospital in Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, between January 2022 and January 2025. Method: Observational, descriptive, longitudinal, and prospective study with a quantitative approach. Results: Healing time was appropriate, with 70% of cases achieving closure between 8 and 14 days, no cases exceeding 21 days, and only one patient presenting with local infection. Pain management was adequate, and the aesthetic quality of the scar improved between days 30 and 90. Conclusions: The nanocellulose dressing demonstrated efficacy and safety as a local therapeutic option.
