Introduction: Wound dehiscence in areas of tension is a complication that compromises healing. Objective: To compare the evolution of wound healing when skin compression and negative pressure wound therapy are used together to prevent dehiscence in wounds in areas of tension. Method: An experimental, analytical, prospective, and longitudinal study with a quantitative approach was conducted in a private clinic in Lima, Peru, between July 2022 and July 2023. Results: The group receiving combined therapy obtained better overall scores at 90 and 180 days, with statistically significant differences. Conclusion: The combined technique showed greater efficacy in optimizing wound healing and reducing the risk of dehiscence.

Introducción: La dehiscencia de heridas en zonas de tensión constituye una complicación que compromete la cicatrización. Objetivo: Contrastar la evolución de la cicatrización cuando se usa el contensor cutáneo y la terapia de presión negativa conjuntamente para prevenir dehiscencia en heridas de zonas de tensión. Método: Se desarrolló un estudio experimental, analítico, prospectivo y longitudinal con enfoque cuantitativo en una clínica privada de Lima, Perú, entre julio de 2022 y julio de 2023. Resultados: El grupo con terapia combinada obtuvo mejores puntajes globales a los 90 días y 180 días, con diferencias estadísticamente significativas. Conclusión: La técnica combinada mostró mayor eficacia para optimizar la cicatrización y reducir el riesgo de dehiscencia.
