Introduction: Chronic wounds represent a significant burden on healthcare systems worldwide, affecting quality of life and requiring prolonged treatment. The search for effective and safe therapeutic alternatives remains a priority in clinical practice. Objective: To evaluate healing time in patients with chronic wounds treated with 10% fir resin ointment versus conventional silver sulfadiazine dressing, measured by the major and minor diameters of the lesions. Methods: Interventional, analytical, retrospective, and comparative study with 82 patients divided into two groups: 42 treated with 10% fir resin ointment and 40 with silver sulfadiazine. Measurements were taken at baseline, and at 2, 4, and 6 weeks. Results: The resin ointment group showed greater tissue regeneration speed with statistically significant differences from week 2 (p<0.05), reaching high significance at weeks 4 and 6 (p<0.001). No superimposed infections or adverse reactions were recorded in the resin group. Conclusions: The 10% fir resin ointment demonstrated therapeutic superiority over silver sulfadiazine in chronic wound healing, with a favorable safety profile.
